Documented Victories
Yesterday we WON! To our surprise National Fuel's regulators made a decision regarding the Conservation Incentive Program early and they proved that they heard us loud and clear. The Public Service Commission increased low-income weatherization to 50% of the CIP, almost $4million. 100% of that increase came directly out of National Fuel's advertising budget. On top of that, in Energy Efficiency Programs statewide we won $18.7million more towards low-income weatherization! Those were our CIP demands, and they were met!
This victory would not have happened without a strong coalition, courageous leadership, and a powerful community! Because of our work we won shift in priorities:
People before corperate profits! Our hard work paid off and! Now we have millions of dollars in low-income weatherization to show for it! |

While we celebrate this victory, we know that we have more work to do. With winter around the corner too many families are without gas right now, HEAP suffered big cuts, no National Fuel money has been put toward weatherization, and CEO David Smith is positioning himself to fight against millionaires paying their fair share in taxes.
But for now let's celebrate how far we've come, and remember that we can make things happen because Real People have Real Power!
